SES Digital delivered smart motor sensors and related solutions to a chemical pigment manufacturing company for better maintenance planning and optimizing the overall production. The company was experiencing a slight rise in motor downtime and therefore it was necessary to identify the inefficiencies.
We installed our smart motor sensors on around 100 of their motors in the manufacturing plant. With the help of these sensors, we made up an interconnected network of these devices, converting traditional motors to smart motors. We provided the production workers and maintenance staff with an interactive dashboard, which is accessible through mobile app and web platforms.
The dashboard offered real-time data and actual motor readings of the motors, based on which the maintenance staff could detect the root cause of inefficiency. Then, the engineers developed an enhanced maintenance plan for the motors. As a result, our smart motor sensor helped reduce downtime by 20-30%. The company also observed a significant reduction in power consumption.
